SMS –language- NUMBERS Idea

I’m starting our new series today. Short versions of longer words: ACRONYMS in English, you can use while sending sms or e-mails or chatting on icq. Don’t forget, please, it’s informal and never use it in compositions as it happens already in the U.S.A schools. It raises the discussion: Is it the future of English? And shall we really fight against that? Well… time will show… as always with linguistic issues – people are those that make the language develop and change, not theoretical scientists. Very Happy

I would like all of you to know these expressions! They are basic in a simple, daily communication. In both written and oral form. Acronyms are logical as they are just abbreviations, sometimes funny ones, of full versions. I can't imagine your conversations in English with natives without this knowledge. Try to learn step by step, letter by letter, I'll think of making the test during classes. Smile

Remember, learning English means learning MODERN English used not by professors but casual speakers. We can't sound too proper, old-fashioned and backwards!!!
